Bluewater Babes: Fish for a Cure

The 6th Annual Bluewater Babes Fish for a Cure tournament went down October 3rd and 4th in Jupiter, Florida. The completely sold out, all ladies fishing tournament and event included a costume contest, boat decorating and an all-star cast of very pink anglers!
Bluewater Babes was founded in 2009 from a love of fishing, the courage to fight and an understanding of the powerful nature of women working together. The idea grew in members and events until finally converting into a 501(c)3 public charity in 2013. The group now has over 1,500 members and has raised over $200,000 for local breast and ovarian cancer patients in financial need.
These women have proven that you can have an epic time casting lines and knocking back a few cocktails all in the name of a good cause!

Margo’s Momentos

Bringing a smile to someone’s face can be the most important thing you do today. Tiffany Mulloy and her sister, Crystal Hatch, learned the importance of that from their mother. ‘She did anything and everything to make sure other’s had a reason to smile,’ Tiffany said.
The family suffered a terrible tradegy when they lost their beloved mother, Margo, to complications due to cancer in 2009. And as more and more people shared with the family what a positive impact Margo had on their lives, the sisters decided they would find a way to carry on her legacy and Margo’s Momentos was born.
The fundraiser began in hopes of collecting around 100 cloth totes to fill with goodies to give to patients currently undergoing cancer treatment through The Hope Center for Cancer Care in Howland, Ohio. What began as small, yet hopeful, project has turned into an amazing success. Nearly 300 gift totes have been donated and they are now looking for items like hard candy, comfy socks and notebooks to fill the bags.
Tiffany reached out to Hoo-rag because she thought the Hoo would be a perfect gift for patients, especially those who may be losing hair due to chemotherapy. We were very inspired by the selflessness and love this family wanted to share with the world.
